Case Summary
Chebet was a pre-trial detainee in Kapsabet Women Prison when she first encountered CELSIR during Legal Aid Week. She was navigating multiple charges while also trying to care for her young daughter in custody.
CELSIR provided legal defense support, helped secure relief on some of the charges, and later assisted with tracing family and settling her daughter safely with Chebet’s sister when the child could no longer remain in prison.

The team helped remove some charges and continued defending the remaining arson count.

CELSIR traced family and helped settle Chebet’s daughter with her sister when prison care could no longer continue.
